DONUTS
Since 1892 we have mastered the art of baking bread, buns and rolls but we decided to embrace the sweeter side of baking and expand our product offerings to include classic cake donuts and donut holes. Who can say no to a plain or chocolate glazed donut hole and there is no refusing any donut that’s completely enrobed in chocolate or covered in power sugar. Klosterman Baking Company’s crave-worthy cake donuts are mouth-watering perfection.
But you might be wondering, “are all donuts not the same, what is a cake donut, and how is it different from other donuts?”
There are two types of donuts: cake and yeast. A cake donut is made from a batter and is leavened with baking soda and/or baking powder. It has a rich flavor and more compact crumb. It’s delicious on its own or enrobed in chocolate, covered in glaze, frosted with icing, or doused in powder sugar. Whereas yeast donuts are made with a bread-like dough and is leavened with yeast. This results in a light and airy crumb structure and much of the flavor is largely dependent on toppings and/or fillings.
Our cake donuts are disturbed through our network of frozen food distribution partners and are available to restaurants and foodservice accounts as well as to grocery retailers and convenience stores.
